Northwood Health Systems in Wheeling, West Virginia is committed to providing cost-effective, quality care to patients of all ages with emotional problems, intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and drug and alcohol addiction. To better achieve this mission, Northwood built a new 28,800-square-foot outpatient care facility, including a 16-bed crisis stabilization unit and space for intensive outpatient programs. 

When the project team designed the new care center, it was critical to create a space that was welcoming for patients and families.

 With previous experience, the team from Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal trusted CENTRIA products and worked in partnership with architects from M&G Architects & Engineers and the CENTRIA sales team to design the optimal solution for the healthcare facility that reflected the modern care provided inside. The project team selected IW-11A panels to provide a contemporary facade and a resilient rainscreen system that would require minimal maintenance for the medical center.

Crews installed nearly 4,000 square feet of 20-guage galvanized steel IW-11A panels coated with a mica paint finish in Silversmith to complete the exterior of the healthcare facility.

IW Series metal rainscreen panels eliminate exposed fasteners for a clean, unbroken aesthetic. The common-lock joint design makes IW Series panels interchangeable on a project and minimizes moisture intrusion. With the ability to install year-round, installation time is shortened, reducing construction costs.
