The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Seventh District Police Station was built in response to Hurricane Katrina, which damaged the previous station beyond repair. The new 18,463-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility nearly doubles the capacity of the old facility. Constructing a new home base for the NOPD was a crucial aspect of the New Orleans government’s rebuilding plans and has played a vital role in determining what direction the city is trending toward.
